Mahindra has revealed that they’ll debut the revamped XUV300, renamed the XUV 3XO, on April 29, 2024, globally. This updated version will enter the fiercely contested sub-four-meter SUV category, competing against rivals such as the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
The XUV 3XO, formally named, will showcase a fresh exterior design and updated interior. Highly anticipated for 2024, this vehicle is anticipated to introduce a range of new features and a distinct appearance. Mahindra has teased the upcoming XUV 3XO, unveiling some details. This SUV raises the bar with novel features not seen in the XUV300.
The forthcoming facelift marks the most substantial overhaul for the XUV300 since its debut in February 2019. Aside from occasional minor feature adjustments, the introduction of the Turbosport variant in October 2022 was the only notable update the model received. Mahindra recognizes that the XUV300 has remained unchanged for over five years, prompting them to reintroduce it in a fresh iteration. This update aims not only to incorporate best-in-class features for its segment but also to introduce leading-edge features in its class.
According to the teasers, here are the five fresh features that will distinguish the XUV 3XO:
Panoramic Sunroof
Mahindra’s teaser unveils a significant upgrade for the forthcoming XUV 3XO: a panoramic sunroof, marking it as the first in its segment to offer this feature. While the XUV300 and other vehicles in this category currently feature single-pane sunroofs, the XUV 3XO will introduce a panoramic option.
Exterior Design
In terms of design, the general shape of the new Mahindra XUV 3XO will remain unchanged, but it will feature redesigned front and rear ends heavily influenced by Mahindra’s BE line-up of SUVs. At the front, it will showcase chrome-trimmed triangular accents in the grille, accompanied by revised headlight clusters and fang-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs).
Fully Digital Driver’s Display and Larger Touchscreen
The current XUV300 comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. However, the XUV 3XO will feature a larger 10.25-inch system that supports wireless smartphone connectivity. Moreover, it is anticipated to offer more advanced connected car technology features. This same unit is also featured in the Mahindra XUV400, the electric variant of the XUV300.
Another feature present in the new XUV400 is the 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, which will also be included in the XUV 3XO. This digital display integrates navigation. Considering that the current model features a semi-digital instrument cluster, this represents a significant upgrade.
Ventilated Front Seats
The forthcoming sub-4m SUV will offer exceptional comfort, notably with ventilated front seats. Currently, only a handful of vehicles like the Nexon and Sonet offer this feature. Therefore, it’s considered a crucial addition to stay competitive within the segment.
Wireless Phone Charger
Mahindra is anticipated to incorporate a wireless phone charger into the XUV 3XO, mirroring the addition made to the XUV400 during its model year update. This feature offers more convenient charging while maintaining a clutter-free front console in the cabin.
Expected Price
The current price range for the Mahindra XUV300 is between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 14.75 lakh (ex-showroom). With numerous new features and updates, the prices for the XUV 3XO are anticipated to increase, potentially starting at around Rs 9 lakh. Competing against models such as the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Brezza, the upcoming vehicle has already started accepting bookings at certain dealerships across India.
