The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to be hosted across both West Indies and the United States, spanning nine different venues. A total of three venues in the USA and six in the Caribbean have been selected to host the tournament. These venues will accommodate the groups and fixtures for the ninth edition of the 20-over cricket tournament.
The 20 teams have been divided into 4 groups, with India and Pakistan placed in the same group. In addition, defending champions England and Australia find themselves in the same group. Refer to the snapshot below for details on all the groups:
Where is the tournament being held?
Forty-one matches are scheduled to take place in the Caribbean spread across six different islands. The semi-finals are set to be held in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana, while the title decider is slated for Barbados on June 29.
The tournament is set to kick off on June 1 with co-hosts USA facing neighbors Canada. On the second day of group play, the other host, West Indies, will take on Papua New Guinea in Guyana.
Key Fixture: India vs. Pakistan – When and Where?
This is the first Twenty20 International match between India and Pakistan since Virat Kohli’s historic innings at the Melbourne Cricket Ground during the 2022 T20 World Cup, where the 2007 champions defeated Babar Azam’s team in an exciting match. The highly anticipated match is set to take place at Eisenhower Park in New York City on June 5.
